Aestheticism + Architecture

We took a flight at midnight and now my mind can’t help but wander. How come? All these people on the planet, working 9 to 5, just to stay alive. What goes up, ghost around…Probably won’t make no money off this, oh well. Reap what you sow. Perfection is so… Mmm. Lyrics from Beyoncé’s Ghost

architecture as frozen music: aesthetic moments captured in time

The test of a first rate intelligence is the ability to hold two opposed ideas in the mind at the same time, and still retain the ability to function. F. Scott Fitzgerald

This mystic montage blends the visuals from Beyoncé’s Ghost music video with photographs of Elenberg Fraser‘s new Premiere Tower in Melbourne. The architects state that the building form pays homage to the bodies of dancers in Beyoncé’s music video for Ghost, and its undulating nature is very effective in structural dispersion. The dancers wrapped in fabric create slow twisting movements, and these have been dissected to create the form.

music > fashion > body > architecture

The music and lyrics from Ghost helped create an aesthetic vision for the music video, which along with additions to fashion and direction of bodies in space inspired the forms in architecture.
